#How to whitelist a website on firefox install

I don't understand which UI you want to expose here (if none, that makes it pretty difficult to use for web developers testing their app locally). We need to tweak the various pieces of UI exposing it for each additional permission we want to expose to users.

I think that tweaking a value in nsIPermissionManager is the right way to address this rather than a pref.

Having thought more on the topic, there are two ways to approach this, both perfectly valid:ġ. If there is no value already set in nsIPermissionManager, we would look at a pref to determine whether the site is listed if listed, it gets 'privileged', otherwise, 'default'. That is, nsIPermissionManager has three screen sharing settings: forbid (don't bug me), default (ask, but don't share desktop or firefox), privileged (allow sharing of anything). I think that we can (and probably should) use nsIPermissionManager to control this, with values primed from a pref.
